The fine print
1. What Vana is
Vana API is an independent relay. It passes your requests to third-party model providers and bills each one by the tokens it used. Using the service means you accept these terms.
2. Your keys are yours to guard
An API key is as good as your password. Keep it private; losses from a leaked or shared key are your own responsibility. Retire a key in your space the moment you suspect it leaked.
3. How money moves
The service is prepaid. Your balance is credit for API usage, not a cash deposit. Prices are listed per million tokens and charged as each request completes.
4. When you want money back
Unused balance can be refunded within 3 days of the top-up, minus what was already used and the payment processor's fee. Used credit and top-ups older than 3 days are not refundable. Credit from referrals or promotions cannot be refunded or withdrawn as cash (referral earnings follow their own payout rules). Ask through the message page; we handle requests within 3 business days.
5. When things go down
We keep Vana running as carefully as we can, yet no relay can promise every minute of every day. Indirect losses caused by provider outages or network failures are not ours to cover.
6. Fair play
Use Vana lawfully and within each provider's own policies. Accounts used for abuse are paused, and their balance is not refunded.
7. Model answers are drafts
Replies are written by third-party models, and models make mistakes. Treat anything that matters as a draft until you have checked it yourself.
8. When these terms change
We may revise this page. Whatever it says at the moment you use Vana is what applies.
9. What we keep
For each request we store the token counts and the cost. We also keep the text you send (never system prompts or model replies) for 30 days so we can deal with abuse and support cases, then delete it. A diagnostic capture of raw requests exists but stays off; it is switched on only for one specific account while we work on its support case.
